How to Protect Your Sensitive Skin

Most of the time, the appearance of my skin worsens due to my surroundings. Especially since I live near a construction site, the dust pollutes the air and inevitably worsens the condition of my skin- pimples and whiteheads oh god…
Usually, our skin gets affected by the environment around us since it is in direct contact with air/pollutants. And not surprisingly, a new range of skincare has been on the rise aimed to protect our skin against pollutants.

So what exactly are we protecting our skin against?

Pollutants such as the sun, dust, haze and smoke which causes the outer layer of the skin (lipids) to be damaged, bringing about issues such as irritation! This is especially so for people who suffer from sensitive skin! A quick easy method to combat this would be applying sunblock! However, the bigger issue at hand is to deal with dehydrated skin due to a damaged moisture barrier.

Starting with a good range of skincare is obviously the best solution, I mean DUH? I tend to focus on dermatologically tested products such as Physiogel Daily Defence Facial Care range. Physiogel moisturising creams and lotions contain an advanced formulation called Physiogel BioMimic Technology, which contains lipids similar to those found naturally in skin. The ingredients in Physiogel BioMimic Technology mimic the skin’s natural structure to repair the moisture barrier, restoring the hydration your skin needs to stay strong and visibly healthy. YASSSSSSS

Starting with a good cleanser should be your utmost priority, since you want to cleanse all that dirt off your face and yet u want to keep all your natural oils on?! Tough life of a skincare product. This cleanser works perfectly for those suffering from sensitive skin, or users who just don’t like the “dry” feeling after washing your face. Personally for me, the product reminds me of those milk/gel cleansers on the market which are delicate on the skin. The great thing about DD Facial Cleanser is that it’s rinse free, all you have to do is massage face and wipe off with cotton pad.

Daily Defence is a facial moisturizer range made specially for people with sensitive skin, to protect them from environmental triggers (Eg. Sun, Pollution, Dust, Haze, Smoke) which may trigger their sensitivity – great for us chicks living in the city especially with the haze and all! The range includes:

  1. Gentle Facial Cleanser
  2.  Day Cream Light
  3.  Day Cream Rich (heavier texture than Day Cream Light)
  4.  Replenishing Night Cream

Daily Defence range contains Triple Action Formula:

  1.  SPF 15 UVA/UVB Protection
  2.  Advanced Physiogel BioMimic Technology
  3.  Antioxidant complex (which is awesome since they neutralize free radicals– causes aging- and prevent them from damaging skin)

After 2 weeks of using the product, my skin appears less dull where it has more of that ideal youthful vibrancy that everyone wants to achieve. Besides that, my skin is less oily due to new range of moisturizers. Overall, I am pleased to say that the Physiogel Daily Defence facial care range is great for women of all ages

ICM Pharma Pimple Cream

Hey guys, I’m back with another skin care post! ❤

Besides being well rested which I sooooo stress for clear skin and a healthy diet, sometimes you really need a pick me up to get rid of that irritating pimple. As all of you know, I am currently in the midst of my preliminary examinations and the stress is getting to me and my complexion is starting to reflect how I’m feeling. Acne cream comes in handy during these crucial moments when you need something to clear pimples fast.

Hearing about my recent woes about school and stress, ICM, the leading anti-acne cream brand in Singapore, has gifted me their acne cream product! *yaasss*

As you can see I already used some of it!

The ICM Acne Clear Cream kills acne bacteria, unblocks oily pores and dries up pimples- everything you need for a clear and radiant glow for your face. It’s also manufactured in Singapore in a Health Sciences Authority-approved Good Manufacturing Practice factory! Bet you didn’t know that.

Its non-oily skin colour formula allows for easy application. All you have to do is to squeeze out a little of the cream and apply it to affected areas! The cream is light on the skin and doesn’t have the stingy drying feeling that usual products have on the market.

It is also pigmented, as you can see from the above picture, and comes in handy on school days where you just want to hide that pimple.

It’s a great addition to my skincare routine and I hope it’s the same for you xx
